Breakthrough Maths Reviews (Year 10 & 11)

Approximately 5 million students sit their GCSE’s each year. And 40% of them struggle to achieve a grade 4 or higher. That is shocking. One of the reasons for this is that it is so hard to find decent GCSE Maths Tutoring in the UK. However, the Breakthrough Maths reviews speak for themselves with over 600 parents and students giving us 5 star rating. If you are failing miserably, or just need some extra help, we can improve your maths grade.

The funny thing is, being good a maths isn’t about being a genius. It’s about building and maintaining confidence. And that’s what we know how to do.

In Ireland, we’ve taught over 2,000 students and the most common problem isn’t a misunderstanding maths. It’s students’ lack of confidence to even attempt a question. No two maths questions are the same. So they see something new, panic, and give up. When in reality, they *should* have all the tools they need to succeed. And when they don’t, we can help. We don’t believe in lecturing students with boring formulas and theorems – our live classes revolve around tackling exam-style questions so the tutor can spot any gaps in your learning.

Breakthrough Maths Reviews – Year 10

Year 10 is the equivalent of 2nd year in Ireland. This is where the core of the maths curriculum is learned and a big emphasis is placed on the most ‘difficult’ topic – algebra.

Not only is algebra one of the ‘hardest’ topics, but it feeds into every other topic e.g. area and volume, trigonometry, financial maths etc. This is the heart of the problem. Since most students consider algebra so difficult, they give up on other topics when it’s incorporated into them. They think that they’re not able to do it before even trying. That’s why we place such a heavy emphasis on algebra in Year 10. You can’t build a house without a foundation – so don’t learn other maths topics without learning algebra. Once that’s nailed down, your grade will improve. There’s no doubt about it.

Here’s what students are saying about us:

Breakthrough Maths Reviews

We’ll help you to nail down algebra before your exams, so you’ll be ready to take on any question from any topic! We also offer accurate exam predictions and tangible advice on our social media channels like this video here.

Breakthrough Maths Reviews – Year 11

Year 11 is the equivalent of 3rd year in Ireland. This is when you get ready for your GCSE’s. 9 months of school. 1 month of exams. 3 maths papers. At this stage, your confidence is as crucial as your comprehension.

Ideally, you should be able to do any practice question on any topic. Our tutors put a lot of emphasis on building the confidence of students here through positive reinforcement. In other words, if a student says that they can’t do a question in class, there’s a 99% chance they do know how to do it, but don’t know where to start. Our tutors explain the basics in a way that is easier to understand and encourage them to try the question again. Our students become more motivated to do the question and whether they get the answer right or not – they’re attempting it. That’s half the battle.

Here’s what parents are saying about us:

Breakthrough Maths Reviews

You may not realise it, but the majority of marks can be achieved from attempting a question rather than getting the correct answer. Of course, you want to be correct. But if you have a rough idea of the formulas/theorems you need for the question, you’ll get some marks. That’s the idea we want to instil into students and make sure they get the most marks that they can. Here are some more posts if you want to read more about our exam tips or study advice.

Breakthrough Maths Reviews – Our Masterclasses

Aside from our regular classes which run 4 days a week, we also organise free monthly masterclasses. These can cover a specific topic like co-ordinate geometry, or they can cover an entire midterm exam. For example, at the start of June this year, we put on a ‘night before the exam’ masterclass and covered everything that students needed to know before their maths exam. Besides the maths revision itself, the class was great for calming the nerves and getting exam focused. You could know the answer to every question, but could go blank in the exam. Our masterclasses like these ones can help you to ‘stay in the zone’ and tackle the exam with confidence.

Here’s a review of one of our masterclass revision courses:

The feedback from parents and students themselves has been overwhelmingly positive and almost all of them said that it really helped with their exam or saw a major difference in their child’s confidence.

Breakthrough Maths Summer Course

We are also running a free summer course on the 27th, 28th, and 29th of August. It’s for Foundation and Higher level students in Year 10 & 11. Whether you’re totally lost, need a small bit of revision, or just that extra boost of confidence – this course will be perfect. It will cover 3 topics before term begins in September. And, if those dates don’t suit, the classes will be recorded too so nobody misses out.
